The new Whitehouse.gov

2/2/09
Whitehouse.gov has been transformed, almost overnight, from propagandistic obfuscation to an example transparency. The internet allows for the immediate availability of information about the performance of government. And with Obama in the white house, now we are getting it. Hopefully the availability of this kind of information will encourage people to pay attention, develop greater understanding and get involved. And set new standards for government performance, accessibility and accountability.

I doubt we will ever be able to agree with everything that any administration does. But for me this is a critical development toward the kind of government that performs better, perhaps even better than the one I would wish for.
