Even though I had been trained to read music at an early age, reading a score was difficult for me. I would try to pay attention to individual details, as a performer should, but then would always get lost very quickly. Reading a score is very different from reading a piano or violin part. This book helps you to focus on the skills needed for a score rather than a part. You will be pleased to know that a good understanding of music notation is not all that necessary for an enjoyable reading of a score.
